Lorena was born and raised in Mexico until the age of 12. Growing up, Lorena was able to understand the need for mental health services, especially with the Latinx community. Therefore, she has strived to understand families and couples. Due to Lorena’s family experiencing mental health issues and barriers, she decided to earn her bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Counseling. This way, Lorena was able to understand society and how societal pressures and norms affect an individual’s mental health. Lorena decided to pursue a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy to work hand in hand with individuals who need mental health services.
